Abstract

An examination of the building inscription from Takina, which has been known since the early 19th century and reports the construction of a bath, leads to the following results: In line 2, behind the name of Caracalla stood that of his brother Geta, in line 3, which was also erased, after Iulia Domna, the name of Plautilla, Caracalla’s wife. Thus, the governorship of C. Iulius Tarius Titianus, mentioned in the building inscription, can be dated between 202 and 205 with certainty.
