Inschriften aus Milet II: Neues zu den Temeniten. Drei kaiserzeitliche Vereinsinschriften

This article contains three new inscriptions from Miletos, all of which are related to the Temenitai. With the new inscriptions we now have evidence from the imperial period for this enigmatic association, which is only found in Miletos. These are all lists of names that were later supplemented by additional names. This phenomenon in particular is therefore also investigated in relation to the material that has already been published. The discussion of the new inscriptions is followed by some concluding considerations in which, on the basis of all known evidence regarding the Temenitai, an attempt is made to offer an explanation of what lies behind these lists of names and the character of these Milesian associations. Of particular interest are also the dating (stephanephoroi Lucius Malius Reginus and his son Lucius Malius Saturninus) as well as a very early case of an archisynagogos.
