About the Journal

PHILIA - International Journal of Ancient Mediterranean Studies focuses on the fields of Epigraphy, Papyrology, Numismatics, Historical Geography, Archaeology, Prosopography, Social, Economic, Political, Administrative, Military History and Religious History of the Ancient Mediterranean Region. Philia is committed to being an international publishing platform within the framework of academic ethical principles, offering new approaches to different aspects of Ancient Mediterranean culture. Concerning the aim, Turkish, English, French, German, Spanish and Italian articles are accepted for publication in the fields mentioned above.

Throughout the publication process, which continues until the completion of a volume, the publication policy must be followed in accordance with the scientific norms and criteria set by the editors. The PHILIA journal's annual volume is published in December; articles must be submitted no later than the end of August of the relevant year. In addition, each article must include a Turkish abstract at the end. The submitted article must not have been published before or submitted to another journal and is not being evaluated in the publication process. In PHILIA, an article in the publication process should be submitted to a separate journal once the editorial process is finished. At least two field-expert reviewers evaluate each submitted article, and the final result is reported to the authors within three months. The PHILIA Publication Principles must be used to prepare the articles to be submitted. Each article is examined against plagiarism using the iThenticate program. In addition, the authors must submit permission to publish archaeological, epigraphic, and numismatic materials that are the subject of their work to the editors and editorial board. Works not mentioned in the source and not submitted with consent for publication are not accepted for the publication process. As a result of the journal's publication, the authors are responsible for any legal and scientific responsibilities that may arise regarding the article.

The journal presents works submitted in specific disciplines to reviewers who are field experts selected by the editorial board. During the review process, we use a blind review process, so authors and reviewers must not know each other. The work is considered appropriate for publication, as the evaluation results are in the current issue. Authors should submit the copyright transfer forms to the editorial board for the articles to be published in the journal. Under these copyrights, the authors are deemed to have accepted that they will not be able to publish or re-evaluate the published manuscript without the consent of the editorial board.
