Abstract: The first part of the article deals with an Hellenistic Rhodian inscription honouring Pythion son of Kleophanes (SEG 58 816). His career is remarkable for the multiple consecutive victories won in the same games and also for the victories won in several disciplines (boxing, wrestling, pankration) in the same celebration. The festivals held ἐμ Βοιωτοῖς date the text before 171 B.C.; the champion’s career was probably held in the decade 185–175. The second part of the article is devoted to the very long record of the victories of a Rhodian runner (SER 66 and 66A). Although the text is badly damaged, we must see in this Roman citizen (T. Flavius [Ap]ollin[arios]?) a winner not only in the Kapetolia of Rome but also in the Aktia of Nicopolis and the Sebasta of Naples at the end of Domitian’s reign or shortly after; it is not excluded that the inventory continued on a fourth side completely lost.
